Liberal Democrats bequeathed the Tories reserves of almost £60 million, when they took control of the Council in May 1998.Reserves have now fallen to a little over £40 million.
Council Taxpayers built up these reserves in the past. The Council holds them in trust for future generations of taxpayers. The Tories are spending them to cover up their own inefficiencies. Council Taxpayers will have to pay higher rates of Council Tax in the future.
