Southborough By-Election - Women Now Have A Real Say

Last May the people of Southborough & High Brooms elected a Liberal Democrat Town Council to take Southborough forward over the next four years.
We have a balanced group of 5 male and 5 female Councillors which means that, at long last, women now have a real say in Council matters.
One of our Councillors has been appointed as Health and Safety Officer, and we are working towards ensuring that our staff and premises meet necessary safety standards. This applies also to the land we own.
As every householder is aware, insurance premiums continue to rocket upwards and this, together with the need to upgrade our property to meet the 2004 Access for the Disabled legislation, means that our costs have increased significantly.
However, with careful budgeting, we have managed to limit the increase in the Council Tax for Southborough. This means a BAND D property owner will be required to pay only an extra 7p per week.
