Councillors hope the RVA will be an important voice for Rusthall
Due to the efforts of local resident Jennifer Blackburn, the Rusthall Village Association (RVA) held its inaugural meeting recently which was attended by almost 100 local residents.
Local Councillors Bob Wratten and Chris Gillmore are delighted that the launch has been successful as it provides Rusthall with the voice it has long required.
Councillor Chris Gillmore
Councillor Chris Gillmore said "It is important that this group remains strong and I hope it will become a vociferous voice and an active stakeholder with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. In view of the CPA report it is imperative that we as councillors do not lose touch with the electorate and when major decisions are to be taken residents' views are given proper consideration.
The CPA report makes it abundantly clear that this has not happened in the past, although the Liberal Democrats have for years championed the ideal of open and accountable local government.
Councillor Bob Wratten welcomes the RVA
I shall be pleased to work with the RVA to ensure Rusthall continues to be precisely the village its residents want and deserve."
