LibDem Candidate Joanna Au Brey wants to see Tunbridge Wells flourish

Long standing Liberal Democrat Tunbridge Wells Borough Councillor, Geoff Young, has stepped down from the Council as he has moved to Devon. Joanna Au Brey is the Liberal Democrat candidate who hopes to replace him at the by-election on 17 March. Geoff said, Joanna will make a fine, strong and knowledgeable councillor." Joanna added, "Geoff worked hard on behalf of the residents of St. John's and I am committed to continuing his work."

A lawyer, Joanna specialises in property, particularly business leases and planning matters. She also has specialist knowledge of NHS doctor's surgeries having carried out the legal work for a new medical centre project. Joanna is a member of the National Trust and supports the Kent Wildlife Trust. She is a fan of local arts, particularly Trinity Arts and the Assembly Hall.

Joanna moved to Tunbridge Wells from London nearly three years ago with her young family and is keen to see Tunbridge Wells flourish. "We need to support all local businesses and enterprises in the town, together with the community groups, to achieve prosperity and choice."

Already Joanna has made a positive impact on her own community as founder member of the Residents Association and she not afraid to get down to some hard work, "I've put on the wellies to pick up the litter and mended broken fences." A great motivator, Joanna has encouraged others to do the same and now the neighbourhood has turned around. Members of the association say she is an inspiration.

LibDem group leader, David Mills said, "Joanna would be a fine addition to our hard working team."
