Confusion over new hospital?

Pembury Lib Dem Councillor, David Mills, is worried that disagreement is bad for public confidence in the project

Following numerous delays to the new Pembury Hospital, there now seems to be confusion over whether the project is to be delayed yet further. Following a meeting with the new chief executive of West Kent Primary Care Trust, Steve Phoenix, Greg Clark MP was quoted in the Courier as saying "...yet another review of Pembury is planned...this time the delay could prove fatal" whilst Mr Phoenix stated there would be no delay.

Following another meeting, Mr Clark has now said that Mr Phoenix has given "his word" that the hospital will not be delayed further.

"We are all aware that Pembury Hospital has been severely delayed, and these conflicting comments have not been helpful" said Pembury Lib Dem Councillor David Mills. "When high profile public figures disagree so publicly, how can local people be expected to have confidence in projects the new Hospital? I am glad this has now been settled, and hope that Mr Phoenix's pledge will mean that the hospital will not suffer further delays".
