Alan is fighting for the interests of local people such as the post office
Dr Alan Bullion if fighting hard on behalf of residents in St John's. He is an experienced campaigner and believes a lot more can achieved for the area. One case in point is the local post office which he supports.
Leading an appeal for support for a campaign to re-open St John's post office - needlessly closed by the Labour Government recently - Alan has been impressed with the response. "We've had several hundred people fill in our petition slips to re-open the post office in just a few weeks. The Government has to see that what they are doing is killing local communities and isn't in the interests of local people".
"There are lots of people in St John's who now can't access postal services" adds local Councillor Herriot. "I've had letters from people who have no choice but to go without now that St John's branch has closed, which is unacceptable."
Alan states "We will aim to re-open the St John's post office, as we successfully did in Ramslye."
